Sicherheitsvorschriften

The Four Basic Safety Rules

These rules must be constantly repeated and applied.

1. All weapons are to be considered always loaded.

There are no exceptions. The handling of weapons must be taken seriously and unconditionally. Most accidents occur with supposedly unloaded weapons.

2. Never point a weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot.
Most shooting accidents are due to the violation of this rule. When someone violates this provision and is made aware of it, they usually respond: "My weapon is not loaded!" (All weapons are to be considered always loaded).

3. As long as the sighting device is not aimed at the target, the index finger must be kept outside the trigger guard.
Due to an innate reflex, a person’s hands can tense up in stressful situations. The force exerted can be up to 20 kg. If the index finger is on the trigger (trigger resistance 2.0 kg), an unintended shot can be fired. The aiming process takes more time than just getting the index finger to the trigger. Therefore, the shooter does not lose time; instead, they gain safety.

Be sure of your target.

4. The target must always be identified before shooting. The shooter must be aware of the consequences of ricochets, missed shots, and shooting through the target. They are responsible for every shot fired.

Standard Rifle / Long Guns

Entering the Shooting Range:

    •    Remove the weapon from the case/bag and deposit the bag at the entrance.
    •    Action open.
    •    Magazine or dummy magazine (if available) removed.
    •    Place the weapon in the rifle rack.
    •    Store the bag in the storage compartments below the rifle racks.
    •    Manipulations on this weapon should always be carried out by the owner or a trained gunsmith, as there are a variety of different types.

Pistols, Revolvers / Free Short Firearms

Entering the Shooting Range:

1. The pistol is to be carried in the holster (container) until reaching the loading bench or the corresponding storage compartments. It is prohibited to remove the handgun beforehand.

2. The pistol is taken out of the container in the shooting line at the loading bench, and the action is opened towards the target. With the action open, the magazine is immediately removed.

3. The pistol is placed on the loading bench in an open state (barrel facing the target, disassembly lever, decocking lever, and slide stop are visible).

4. Magazine or dummy magazine (if available) removed.

5. Place the weapon with the open action on the loading bench with the barrel facing the target slope.

6. The pistol remains open after shooting (the slide is automatically locked in the catch of the slide stop).

7. The magazine is removed. The pistol is placed on the loading bench with the open action.

Correct Loading at the Station:
Insert magazine (pistol) / cartridges in the cylinder (revolver).
Loading movement (pistol).
When shooting, the shooter must strictly adhere to the instructions of the instructor/range master. This behavior prevents accidents at the shooting range.
